Why does he get the celeste kit and the team rides in pink?
Kazakhstan National Champion Jersey…Dave in VA
.
National champion of Kazakhstan.
ohh…impressive.
there are what, two pros in kazakhistan?
a guy i ran track with in college went to the olympics a few years ago as an 800 runner…for guam. don’t get me wrong, he was an awesome guy and a good runner…
Either set of colors are ghastly.
All country champions are obliged to wear the jersey of the country for the calendar year following the race… After that they have the colors of the country on the sleeves of the jersey.(people like robbie mkewen have the Aussie sleeves, thor with the norweigan, etc) However if one was ever a world champion they will forever have the world chmapion rainbows on their sleeve
My 4 year old daughter couldn’t care less about that LA guy. She just loves the guys in Pink.
“Is the guy in Pink winning Daddy?”
Wasn’t Lance a world champion? I don’t know if he has the rainbow on his sleeve
he does have a rainbow on jersey and shoes
.
He knows you can’t expect to be tough while wearing pink…
Jan’s doomed because he hasn’t figured this out.
Lehmkuhler
How come I gotta be Mr. Pink?
“Because I said so!”
great movie!
Actually, Kazakhistan does o.k. in endurance sports for a nation of its size and resources. For example, Dmitri Gaag is one of the world’s top triathletes, having won the 1999 world championship in Montreal and grabbing the bronze last year in Madeira.
I’ve smoked Guam’s national triathlon champ several times:) Great guy who pretty much travels doing races because he loves it and has so much fun. Met him several times in Hawaii. But it was fun thinking to myself that I put the hurt on a national champion triathlete, guess it’s a small country.

"Wasn’t Lance a world champion? I don’t know if he has the rainbow on his sleeve "
No but haven’t you heard, he shits rainbows!

It doesn’t follow the calnedar year.
Most natioanl road race and TT championships (all European) are held just before Tour de France (thids year in the weekend June 24-26). The National winners will wear the National jersey of their country until the next national championships in June 2006.
Sorry that is what I meant… one year from the race

There’s not many, but there’s 3 from Kazakhistan in this years Tour de France (the highest number ever):
19 Alexandre Vinokourov (Kaz) T-Mobile Team
108 Andrei Kashechkin (Kaz) Credit Agricole
186 Maxim Iglinski (Kaz) Domina Vacanze
There’s only 6 national road race jersey’s in this years Tour de France, which is a low number. Many European national championships was won by outsiders.
Winners of the national TT championships will wear the national jersey at prologues, ITT’s and TTT’s, where national road race winners are not allowed to wear the national jersey.
