Was looking at US Triathlon’s race calendar and there was only 3 races in December.
Too cold in the South?
People burned out from the season?
I think the holidays have alot to do with it too. If you are willing to travel outside the U.S. then there is plenty of racing.
It is cold through most of the south. I go to the beach in Decmeber and January down here in Naples. The Holidays definitely put a damper in things for most people, but there are still plenty of running races around at that time.
Down here in Naples Joe Bonness organizes some mountain bike triathlons in the winter at a quary. I have never raced them but I am sure that supportcrew can chime in on them.
