How are YOUR ski conditions?

Long range forecast says we’ll be buried by the end of the month…conditions were epic this morning on the mountain.

Dave,
I don’t think most people can comprehend amount of snow that Mammoth can get. I tell people they measure snow at Mammoth in feet not inches.

For 30+ years My wife and I would spend this week(second week in Feb) in Mammoth. We have missed the last couple of years…sure do miss it.

Take some time off work and get some mountain time in…even doc’s need some fun:)

Over. Thankfully… :stuck_out_tongue:

Tom,

Now, that is HUGE!

Well, I drove up to Mammoth Wednesday. It dumped almost 2 feet over 48 hours. Absolutely amazing. Made me wish I had a Swallowtail powder board…
I drove back to San Diego Sunday, but I think it is still snowing up there.
Just got home from Mammoth tonight (Tuesday). It snowed a “measly” 16" Sunday night. Rode 1/2 day Monday. Temps in the teens w/wind chill around zero, but thigh-deep pow was the order of the day! Today, the top opened, but I spent the morning on skis with my 5-year-old daughter. Warmer and sunny today. Great two-day trip and even got up pre-dawn and got in a 1-hour workout in the condo gym both mornings, so no significant training missed. Looks like several more feet on the way for Mammoth over the next week.

Just wondering how skiing was going for everyone this year. We’ve got lots of snow here on the Prairies, and better yet, our new house is located next to a beautiful, well groomed, lit skate trail, that seems to be used by only me! (and the odd jackass in a jeep that likes to go offroading after a few drinks…). Went out last night for an hour of double poling and it was super fast.

Anyone else?
We’ve had good conditions this year (Switzerland). Hit up the mountains on Sunday to get some of the fresh powder - weather wasn’t that great but hardly anyone there and I was making first tracks. Nothing better than that.

A few weeks ago now I posted some pictures from an amazing tour we did - snow/mountains were great that day.

Indeed, great snow in CH! Where did you do the tour?

Oberalpstock. The snow conditions were good (stable) enough to descend down the north face which was great.
