I just got an ATI All In Wonder 9600 XT. I’ll be attempting to record the Tour onto my computer. Every year I miss a fair chunk due to VCR operator malfunctions. I love riding on the trainer and watching it. If anyone wants I’ll post you on how I get it to work (I’m testing on the Lance Chronicles this week).
Watching highlights on OLN, but I’ll probably get the reports real-time (?) from letour.com. My cubemate’s a NASCAR-head, but she’s looking forward to it. “I really learned a lot last year.” she said.
OLN before I leave for Europe, then in person, from one of the switchbacks on Alpe D’Huez with all the screaming hoards and the “devil”. Besides that I plan to see a bunch of stages between Jul 19-24 and watch the rest of French TV.
I thought this thread might get some of the geeks out there to comment on the technology. I guess everyone just wants to travel there. I am available to carry bags. Hopefully they are flying Boeing planes. (I’m from Seattle and am NOT attacking any other plane manufactorers).
Mostly over the web: cyclingnews.com, velonews.com, OLN.com( I can listen to the audio of phil & paul at work some times) then checkout Graham Watson’s web site for the best photos the day after each stage.
I have the 9600 and it works great. If you have a decent monitor you’ll love it. You can have the race running as your background, which is too cool. Then switch it to a small hi res window for the bunch sprint or if they go mano a mano up Alpe d’Huez.
