This will be my first IM, and I need some advice on what hotel I need to stay. I will like to make the reservation ASAP.
Thank you.
Assuming the resort is sold out or out of your price range, there are several good options just north of I-90 along Appleway. I’ve stayed at the Best Western at Appleway and 95 and there’s a La Quinta Inn, Comfort Inn, Ameritel Inn, and some others right there. These were pretty easy to use and close enough to the Lake. If you are looking for cheaper, I’d suggest going to one of the neighboring towns, such as Hayden or Post Falls.
I stayed at the Comfort Inn on 4th street. It is about 2-3 miles from the race site, but close enough to get there in 5 minutes.

Someone on the Forum gave me the name of a real estate woman in CDA who can arrange for vacation rentals at condos, homes, etc. for IMCDA.
Anyone know who I’m talking about?
You can try the Riverside Motel. Call Nick at (250) 492-2615, he usually books up but he may have space. They are located just around the corner from the lake. We have been set up there for the last 4 years but we have moved our tri gear sales booth to Cherry Land Shopping Centre in the middle of town. You can also try the Days Inn at (250) 493-6616. Good luck, it will be hard to find something now but there may have been some cancellations.

Do NOT stay at the Twin Pines. Scary…
Motel 6 on Appleway is a cheap, no-frills place. It’s about 2 miles away from the race, but it’s close to lots of eating opportunities. Of course, there’s tons of places to eat everywhere in that town. Just don’t make the mistake that I did, I settled for a smoking room when I made the reservations. I thought it would not be as disgusting as it was.
Anne Couser will be happy to help you find a place to stay. Email her at Simpleedesign@hotmail.com
Tell her Dave Stark sent you. She helped us find housing and was really great to work with.
Cheers,
Dave
If you want a bed and breakfast, I stayed at the Roosevelt Inn. Walking distance, good food, fun to hang out in the common areas with other IM athletes and their families.
Glad you posted. I thought Iwould have more time to find a room. I just made a reservation at a Comfort Inn in Port Falls, ID which should be less than 15 minutes away according to Mapquest. I can cancell the reservation and will look at other places this weekend. Since lots of places are full, I feel safer having a reservation close to start. I have free internet and a non smoking room until I can find sometime else.
