Jill Berman was a 19-year-old Indiana University Bloomington student when she disappeared on the morning of May 31, 2000. She had left home for a bike ride, and her whereabouts remained unknown for nearly three years.
Jill was a part of our community, out on a morning ride and was run off the road, raped, then taken to a remote location and shot in the back of the head. A truly senseless crime.
Jills parents have decided to keep Jills spirit alive by building “Jills House.” The mission of Jill’s House is to provide a temporary, home-like residence for patients undergoing outpatient therapy at the Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute in Bloomington.
Jill’s House will be more than just a place to stay.
Jill’s House will be equipped with many of the comforts of home; bedrooms, kitchens, and laundry facilities at little or no cost. Most importantly, Jill’s House professional staff will provide an environment of comfort, healing, and understanding to the guests it serves.
