Y’all know anyone participating? My hubby is on Nike’s team - Southern Mafia. I’ve never been out there and was just curious.
My wife is on a Nike team called More Cowbells I think. Should be interesting considering she is 4 months pregnant. They are more for fun than winning (which most teams are I’m sure).
Sometimes wish he was out there for fun. They are anticipating his first leg to be about 4:30, but if he’s not careful, he’d let go and go faster…which is bad for him in my opinion…his knees. He’s legs 2, 14, and 26 I think.
I know a guy on the Nike team, Jeff Campbell. Are they on the same team or are there several Nike teams?
Leg 2 isn’t as bad as leg 1, but it’s still a steep downhill so he’ll take a bit of a beating on that one. My gf’s brother is running leg 2 as well, but he’ll be long gone before your husband starts.
There’s quite a bit of competition between nike and adidas, especially at the elite level, but even there more recreational teams are duking it out for bragging rights with both companies being local (adidas US HQ is here). Last year gleukos put together an all-star team to try and knock nike off, but came up short.

I’m doing it… It’ll be my 5th or 6th H2C…
I’m also in Van 1, off the moutain at around 5pm…
As far as Nike teams go, there are a ton; this Thursday literally hundreds of people will mill around Nike campus getting to know their teammates, eat pasta and prep.
Nike used to field a team called Mambu Badhu or something along those lines, a 15 hr team. Maybe they’ve brought it back, but the pointy end of the field is mildly slower than it was when I was in college, ten years ago, when they recruited folks right off the XC team I ran on.
Best to take it easy running off the moutain; you go plenty fast w/out trying and you’ve got two more legs to go- the last thing a runner wants are quads and glutes that are shot, it will make the whole thing unpleasant.

I assumed that. It’s a staggered start with the slower teams going off first. Thus my gf’s brother will be in an early group and your hubby will likely be in one of the last groups, so they won’t cross paths until some time during the night / next morning.
