you’d be surprised how many fancy bikes here in Hong Kong are from western brands. I forget what brand of bike it was I saw in a store once (Ridley?) that was obviously Asian-made and European branded. I tried to find out from the store owner if those bikes had ever left Asia but he kinda danced around the subject.
Why? Like communism, democracy is only good in theory and seldom practiced correctly.
