Homestay in London?

As mentioned in my earlier post about Tri Shops in and around London - I’ll be in London from Feb 16th-24th.

Are there any athletes that would be interested in hosting an athlete for a few days? I’m a quiet, mild-mannered triathlete who is willing to trade some team gear, some $ or some other favors (within reason :slight_smile: ).

I’d really like to meet some other triathletes from around the world and have found that homestay is one of the best ways. I currently have a place to stay, but don’t want to impose too greatly on my original host, so was hoping to spread out my stay.

If I can’t find a host thats alright, but at least I’d love to meet up with some locals for training and/or some “night-life.”

Please post or shoot me an email. I’m starting my travel on Feb 12th so I’d love to hear from anyone interested by then.

Brian, Sorry I am too far from London to be of assistance however if you go to www.triathletes-uk.org you can join the e-group and ask for home stay or look up the clubs for those in London that could help Thames turbo has a big scene that is based around Hampton Wick (home of Sigma Sport). While you are in England there is a Tri Expo on at Sandown Race course on the Weekend of Feb 14th & 15th which would be of interest to you, also Spencer Smith is attending, details on www.swimcyclerun.com .

I don’t think that the e-group exists any more. It was closed down last year due (in part) to the same prat who tried to wreck r.s.t.

I was hoping to make it to the Tri Expo, but unfortunately that won’t fit into my schedule. I will be up in Brussels that weekend and coming back down in to London on the evening of the 16th.

If there are any athletes on the forum that just want to get together for a pint or anything from the 16th-24th just let me know.

I think I’ve decided to head out to Stonehenge, Sherborne, Yeovil and Bath on the weekend of the 20th-22nd. Thanks everyone for the suggestions from my other post.
