Any good solutions for chafing during long runs?
Start with BodyGlide and apply as necessary. I’ve also used Aquaphore if I have already started to chafe. It is great for healing afterwards too. I wear compression shorts and have been since I started running. It is rare for me to find a pair of regular shorts that don’t ride up.
+1
for compression shorts. I’ve had 0 chaffing issues since.
Definitely worth the few looks you may get…
Vaseline works great as my “chub rub” and damnit it’s cheap.
I’ve had good luck with Body Glide for underarms/nipples/thighs; just don’t put it on your privates (it burns!). For sensitive areas use a chamois cream; i’ve also used Desitin (diaper rash ointment) with good results.
Another option is wearing a speedo under trishorts so the two layers can rub against eachother instead of you (works well for me in 70.3s+).
+1 on the compression shorts/tights under running shorts as well as body glide. I also got two pair of reebok sports “underwear” from the misses for christmas. These things are great! They fit similar to boxer briefs but are made of brethable material that feels like silk on your skin, and at the same time, they don’t ride up! I have worn them for runs ranging from 5-13 miles so far with no rub!
