While I love the original Bondi B for it’s cushioning & fit, the upper left a lot to be desired. I found it to be pretty stiff (especially when new), and to not breathe or drain particularly well. The upper on the new version looks like a big improvement on paper with the open mesh occupying more real estate. Can anyone comment?
Anyone?
Waiting for Roadrunner to ship my Bondi 2s. When I get 'em I’ll report.
Just picked up the new Bondi B model today (Bondi 2 in cyan/white/lime), the upper definitely seems to be improved on this model. Love my original Bondis, but I agree the upper on the older ones seem very stiff…almost “industrial”. Basically the new pair seems to have the normal mesh material found on a typical running shoe, just overall feels softer than the original, very happy with the change in the upper as that was really my only gripe.
Haven’t ran in them, so don’t know if the change translates over to better breath-ability or drainage, but I’d imagine it doesn’t hurt.
This is now my go-to shoe for anything other than muddy trail runs or track work. I really didn’t want to like them…but I can’t find a reason not to wear them, even for the short distance stuff.
