Hockey on OLN?!?!?!?

What are they gonna do. Make it a pond hockey league??

This stikes me as more than a little odd. I wonder if we will be subject to Trautwig’s ramblings during the Stanley Cup playoffs?

I hear Al Trautwig will do play by play…

Team uniforms will be provided by L.L. Bean.

Maybe this is an opportunity to bring back the cutters!

What will be the new catch phrase? The Hockism!

They’ll probably only show the Blackhawks, Coyotes, Sharks, Ducks, Penguins and MN Wild.

Avalanche, Lightning and Hurricanes games will be on the Weather Channel.

Senators, Capitals, Kings and Canadiens will be on C-SPAN.

Flyers, Sabres, Islanders and Rangers will be on the History Channel.

Columbus Blue Jackets will be on Fashion Channel.

St. Louis Blues will be on A&E

Brilliant!

When they had the strike last year ESPN played a lot of College and International Hockey. It was fun to watch, REAL HOCKEY, not the bump and grind NHL. I hope they do that again this season.

Do people still play hockey?

The Kirsten Gum locker room interviews should be interesting.

Seriously though, if OLN can get Liggett and Sherwin for cycling (and their actual Tour de France footage is a feed from TF2/TF3), maybe they’re hockey coverage will be a direct feed from CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada.

Don Cherry invades American living rooms!

Ha ha.

You funny mistah.

Do people still play hockey?
Hockey was never actually played by “people” … more like hairless yetis

Thankfully, I get CBC where I live. If the OLN coverage sucks, I’ll still at least have my local FSN to broadcast Wings games and CBC for the playoffs.

Hockey Night in Canada is a sublime weekly event. I have wonderful memories of going to a UofM hockey game early in the evening, chilling with friends for an hour or so, and then coming home to the West coast game on HNIC (usually Vancouver) that just got started.
