HITS Triathlon Series (3)

I just wanted to pass on my experience with the new HITS triathlon folks. I was looking for a full “iron” distance race in the spring but my options seemed limited. Then, I came across the new HITS series ( http://www.hitstriathlonseries.com/ ) Unfortunately, the race distances were short of a “Full” iron distance. I then dropped them an e-mail asking if they had finalized their distances and almost immediately received a reply from the race director. In short, that reply, as well as a few others as we exchanged messages, really impressed me. He seemed to “get it” and I found the “athletes-first” mentality a breath of fresh air after dealing with a few cranky (“Do you know how hard it is to pull off one of these races?”) race directors in the past. Today I received an e-mail stating that all race locations will have standard full distances! I’m in. It’s great to see a new player in the triathlon market and I hope they can make the profit as well as provide the amenities that will make the series a success. It’s also nice to see that they’re willing to consider and promote from the beginning how their amenities will make participation attractive: http://www.hitstriathlonseries.com/news-a-media/hits-triathlon-athlete-amenities
