I’m looking for recommendations for a waistbelt bottle holder. I’m looking for something that can hold at least 20oz of water and a gel flask. it’d be nice to have a small pocket for a key or credit card, but this feature isn’t necessary.
in the past, i’ve used the ultimate direction version (can’t remember the name), but i always had problems with the bottle flying out of the holder during races and at any pace over 8 min/mile. is there anything else out there that could work?

Amphipod runlite belt, the best there is, up to 32oz, but customizable for 8, 16, 24, or yup 32oz. You can even add more if you like, add on gel flask, pocket(s), and super easy to snap in snap out gel mounts. The best. btw, they make two versions a fitted line and a one size fits all adjustable, get the fitted if you can find it.
Fuelbelts are really nice this year as well, just don’t like the relative lack of flow out of thier bottles. The new Nathan stuff looks promising too as one of the main Ultimate Direction guys now designs for them. I like ultimate packs but not really thier running packs unfortunately, although thier updated Lightning which is a lot like the Fuelbelt is pretty nice and bounce free.
Fuel Belt makes one with 3 7-oz bottles and one gel flask. I have a new Fuel Belt and one of the old style ones. Both perform flawlessly. Bottle can never bounce out, although they put little bungee cords on the new style belt. I cut them off once I ran with it once and confirmed that the bottles will stay put.
I’ve got MANY miles with my fuel belt around my waist, and I’ve never had any problems. No bouncing (provided I’ve put it on correctly), no lost bottles, etc, etc. I think they are great. I’ve put as many as three gels in the back pocket, but that gets a little uncomfortable (pushes into the small of your back).

Odd. My four-bottle Fuel Belt’s elasticity is completely shot and the bottles bounced around like a couple of 38D’s the last time I used it. I had it for three years and I’m done with it; it fell all the way down my legs even when I had it on pretty tightly.
Buyer beware…
Do you want an actual bottle for any particular reason? I have a Camelback Flashflo that goes around my waist and I love it. It bounces around and sloshes a lot less than the bottles did on me. Please there is a pocket big enough for just about anything - my only problem is making sure I don’t overload it and end up heading out the door for my runs with 5 pounds of water and other assorted junk loaded on my hips.
