Hincapie is a warrior! (Spoiler)

He is wrapped like a mummy and might have a broken collarbone, yet he is prepared to do his part in the Columbia HTC leadout! What a guy!

Oh, and I think these guys might stay away, because they are totally getting a draft off the motorbikes!

I like Hincapie, talked to him a couple of times when I lived in SC, a genuine nice guy, and I am glad to see him tough it out the last couple of days on the Tour.

BUT, damn, he sounded like a whiner this past weekend. It’s a bike RACE, quit your belly aching about not being handed a “chance of a lifetime.” Wish he could have shown some the toughness he is showing now during his interviews about just missing the yellow jeresy.

props to cavendish for getting over all the mountains this year and still having sprint left!

never met the guy but seems like a class act.

The dude has some mojo. I hope he does at least two more tours. Whats the record for how number of tours a person has done? 16?

Is Cav’s advantage on the other sprinters purely in the legs or is it now partly a mentally advantage? Obviously he his also benifiting from a team who would ride through fire for him.

I hear he didn’t get an xray on his collar bone in case it was broken and they pulled him from the tour. Wish some of the overpaid football (soccer) players had this kind of gumption!

The others have not conceded anything, but it appears they simply don’t have the top end speed to come around him. Hushovd had a perfect leadout and had he been capable, he could have come around; he couldn’t do it. Of course, Thor has always been more of a strong finisher rather than a pure, speedy sprinter. Someone is going to come along to rival Cavendish eventually, but right now the other sprinters just don’t have it. Mario was this dominant in the 90s, but he always had to work for it against guys like Zabel and Abdujaparov. I don’t think any of Cav’s opponents are in the league of Zabel or Abdu.

Hincapie is huge!

This is all hype, the collarbone part. If it was actually broken there is no way he could ride a bike, much less ride a leadout for Cav.

Finally got a chance to see the finish, Hincapie was amazing. Cavendish is lucky to have him on his team.

Yeah, you’re right, it would be totally impossible to ride with a broken collarbone.

I mean, it’s not like this guy broke his collar bone in stage 1, then won stage 16, then finished the entire Tour in 4th place. Completely impossible to ride a bike with a broken collarbone.

Props!
Was just about to bring this exact situation up

Yeah, I love George. I thought he was whining a bit too, but I give him a pass, he was interviewed in the heat of the moment and heard what people told him.
