Hill repeats advice (pace vs repetitions)

Hi, my regular weekly running schedule have 4 sessions (easy / intervals or hill repeats / tempo / long) and I aim for 30mpw.
For my hill repeats day, I’ve found a nice 500m@4% hill, what’s the best to do with it? I’ve been doing 5-6 hill repeats as hard as I can, is this a good workout? Or should I aim for more repeats with a slower pace?
