High Altitude Tri Camp May 18-21 in Arizona

Join me and my coaching staff May 18-21 for 4 days of coached swimming, biking, running through the pines in the high altitude retreat of Flagstaff, Arizona. With an elevation of 7000 feet, Flagstaff has been the destination of several cycling and triathlon teams, such as the Australian Cycling Team, the Belgium Triathlon Team, and the German Triathlon Team, just to mention a few.

Athletes will participate daily in swim, run, and bike sessions, including:
–Open water swimming at St. Mary’s Lake and at the US High Altitude Training Center. --Trail running on mountain and urban trails. --Epic sag-supported out and back ride to the Grand Canyon. --Trail run/hike to the summit of Mt. Humphrey (the highest mountain in Arizona)-- bring warm clothes! --Bike fits, technique and form work, assisted stretching, and discussions on nutrition, mental training, peaking and tapering, etc. Video swim stroke analysis included. --ride through world famous Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona, Arizona.

We will be doing a solid amount of training volume, and will be focusing on base training. This camp is perfect for athletes going to Ironman Coeur d’Alene or any Half or Full IM in June, July, or August, or looking to get in some solid base training.

Cost: $550 for single room accommodations (shared kitchen and bath); $475 for double room accommodations (shared kitchen and bath). We will be staying in cabins. Each cabin has two bedrooms, (1 BR with double bed, 1 BR with two twins), therefore, there is a limited number of both shared and single accommodations. Each cabin has a full kitchen plus 1 bathroom. Please contact me with your requests before committing. Cost includes accommodations, coaching, sag support, snacks during training, 2 delicious home (cabin) cooked dinners, 3 breakfasts. Price does not include flights or travel to Flagstaff. If you are flying into Phoenix, please contact me to arrange for transportation to Flagstaff. A deposit of $250 is due initially to reserve your spot, and the balance is due by April 18th. Camp will be limited to 8 athletes in order to maximize personal attention. There are currently 3 slots left.

Note: May 18 is the Tempe International Triathlon. This is a very fast course and a very easy location (you’ll most likely be flying into Phoenix International Airport, which is 4 miles away from the race site). I’ve negotiated a great price on the race for athletes attending this camp. Please contact me for more information on this option or any questions about the camp.

Head coach is USAT-certified coach and triathlon champion Brian Grasky. He’s raced in Kona, holds course records, and more importantly has gotten athletes to USAT and XTERRA National and World Championships, Kona, Clearwater, and Team USA.

We just signed our swim coach–1st overall out of the water in IM NZ 2007, Bill Daniell!
