Hickups after long events?

Not sure what the deal is, but after 6:55 of running the HAT 50K, I get the hickups and can’t get rid of them for hours…I’m drinking lots and peeing clear, I’m taking a fair amount of salt…

Same thing has happened after 3 ironmans and a couple of half IM races and several marathons…is it just lack of hydration or something? Thx. b2

Occassionally have the same thing happen after long events (IMs, etc). Found dmwolff’s comments interesting, and I’ll have to give it a try the next time. Unfortunately, my mind is normally jello at the end of the race. The best thing I’ve found or me (that must calm my mind) is to eat some bread type product or lie down and relax. One of the two normally does the trick after about 10 minutes.
