This saturday i have a chance to win a Look 555 bike just by holding onto it. Along with 9 other people, the last one to let go wins the bike. It starts Saturday at 9AM and could go until July 11th at 6PM. Lets hope it doesn’t but i have nothing to do during those five days so im coming home with my first roadbike…i hope. wish me luck.( im just going to pee on myself to scare the others away-good practice for IMOO too)
You could also try the don’t shower between now and then, and do lots of workouts. The stench might drive them away, from your bike.

ok so i will be standing for 2 hours at a time with a 5 minute bathroom break. any recomendations for standing in one spot for so long? also no sleeping so what should i eat/drink to help stay awake and not crash. i was thinking of timing caffine in the AM to keep the circadium rhythm going…any other suggestions??
I’ve heard that people wear tights or tight stockings to prevent all their blood running into their legs.
I imagine comfortable shoes are a requirement.
And learn a ton of bad jokes before hand

back in january i did this in hopes of winning a Toyota FJ Cruiser. Started 1200 on Tuesday ended 4:00 pm Sunday. we got breaks 15 minute break every 3 hours. started with 35 people came down to 9 of us. we drew numbers to pick keys to start it. i drew my lucky #5 unfortunately #4 started it. i was more worn out mentally than physically.
This is interesting. Does everyone talk and play mind games with each other to try to get them to leave? If you remove your hand even for a split second, say you sneeze or something, are you out?
yes yes and yes. you can alternate hands. i will be wearing bike gloves to psych the others out. as well as sunglasses, a visor and bike shoes like im ready to ride the baby out of the store!

Went by Hi-Tech this afternoon at 5pm and they were 6 hours into it. All looked well and were in good spirits.
Hi Tech had a tarp down in the area - possibly anticipating some loss of control?
Said they get a 5 minute break each 2 hours for personal needs.
I asked if negotiations had started yet and they laughed.
Also Mike was pedaling the stationary bike in another part of the store and was already pushing 23 hours. He was doing one leg at a time when I saw him.
I asked if he was sleepy and he said he got 2 hours sleep on the bike while pedaling in his sleep and felt fine so far.
I predict widespread flagpole sitting will return soon. Possibly at car dealerships.

oh ya i won it today in a time of 24 hours, and 43 minutes after a 1vs 1 trivia showdown of 15 questions. i got four right the other guy got 3. now i get to pick a new road bike. im going for the upgrade either to a Time XPS? i think which is 4500 with full campy record or kuota kerdo with ultegra for 3600 damn im tired. do you guys have any good recomendations for road bikes from hi-tech.com? thanks!

yea i was…i basically get a 3k credit and have the choice to upgrade to whatever… im considering the Time VXS or Kuota Kredo. my feet and ankles were really swollen and my heels hurt like a bitch. i drank lots of beers today to reward myself and get to go in tommorrow to make my final decision
