Do you genuinely get a lot of complaints about the LR?
I mean, most of the discussion here is great and I would think fairly benign. The political threads can be heated but it’s honestly generally no better or worse than any other online political discussions I come across. If anything, there’s more substance and fewer insults here than elsewhere.

I honestly do. It’s one of many reasons we locked it down to the general public.
Google Ads wont run on the forum with you “in plan sight” not a single partner that supports this website cares about this part of the forum. And new users generally get turned off by it. I keep this around out of per respect to the people here that I believe will start to understand that things need to slowly change inorder for it to remain. While some of you joke or not joke about being mad @Slowman about me. He knows that while sometimes I will make mistakes I will will always think very cafefully about what I am doing and put the whole of the community first above all things and that even includes $$. Dan and I have know each other for 15 year we have never seen eye to eye on policital things outside of #dontbedick Thats the same with @rrheisler. Yet we talk almost every day about what we can do better for Slowtwitch and its community members. The 3 of us are truley friends and will probably always remain that way. God willing.
Respect is never given, but it always earned.
And how in the absolute fuck did me offering up a damn rag to Sphere devolve into this?? Man… does anyone else not see the absurdity here?

I was waiting for that bullshit ‘earned’ response. You make a post to a specific person that should have been a PM, the OWNER posts a kindly worded suggestion as such, and low and behold the LR militia get their panties in a twist and come out with the bitchy snide remarks…
If I can interject for a moment and say how touched I am that y’all saw it fitting to turn my eponymous thread about nothing pertaining to any of you into an absolute donkey show. Feels like a LR lifetime achievement award of sorts.

The only question I have is, exactly how much traffic is driven here by the LR? I’ve been over to the otherside, but I don’t see a helluva lotta action over there. Yet, there are half a dozen threads over here that I’ve tried to keep up on, but I’m better than a hundred posts behind. But on the otherside, I got a couple threads I have been wanting to start, but no clue where to post them for people to actually see 'em. Just doesn’t seem like people are interacting in some of those areas. Which sucks.
I was a little critical when the switch happened, but I’ve been doing my damnedest to learn this knew layout. I’m… managing, I guess? But coming in and giving someone shit for actually contributing to this community, rather than spewing bullshit like in the neverending politcal threads? That’s how you wanna project yourself?
Have you never actually interacted with real people before? I feel pretty sure @E_DUB understood I was just giving him a little crap, and most people who are capable of functioning in the world know that giving and getting a little crap is part of being in the group.

As for the LR community most of you have zero interest in triathlon, openly joke about not knowing Kona was on etc and do your best to create a hostile and negative environment… Sounds like a triathlon/health and fitness advertisers dream…I doubt any traffic is drawn to the main forum from the LR
Also without the incessant bitching about Trump what would you all have to talk about? Of the last 6,000 or so recent posts, about 5,000 are Trump related…

This is some of the worst of the LR, right here: people purposefully taking a thread meant for one thing and steering it into a wall to try to serve their own agendas.
Of course, I’m not helping yhings by responding to it. And, quite frankly, this is probably one of those that you type out and then just delete. But I’m just tired of the vitriol here. And the stupid shit that people come up with and think it’s relevant and worth posting. Hell, I may have been a part of it in the past, but I do my damnedest to not be that person now.

You’ve been here three whole years, and you think you know this community? You’re an idiot and a troll, but what’s worse: you think you’re smarter than everyone else here, and don’t have any regard for anyone else here’s opinions or experiences.
You are the problem with the LR. The sooner you come to grips with that, and learn how to be a contributor rather than a detractor, the sooner this place starts growing again and being the place it always has been.

And yes this is an example of the LR, instead of just acknowledging udubs request or responding in a polite manner he was met with a bunch of bitchy responses about what the LR was for, not understanding the vibe, maybe if he hangs around longer he will get it, backhanded remarked about what DMs are for etc
