here are my numbers from the fit yesterday. any help with size selection for the frame/bar set up. measurements looked like the p3 in a 54 would be almost ideal. also was looking at the transition pro but can’t figure out what size. and the felt b2 in a 54? thanks for your help
handlebars–42cm
aero bar size–270mm
tip of saddle to HB center–47.2cm
tip of saddle to end of elbow pad–41cm
tip of saddle to center of shift bolt–71.6cm
ideal top tube length–53cm
rec stem length–100mm
drop distance from saddle to handlebar–12cm
drop distance from saddle to elbow pad–5.75cm
ideal seat tube length–55cm
rec saddle height–78.4cm
rec crank arm length–172.5
ideal seat tube angle–77
you’ll want to read about how to match fit coordinates to bikes with compatible geometries. what i need are two parameters your fitter did not give you: stack and reach. if you have these, then you and i can go to our database of tri bikes and find the likely bikes.
why don’t you go to your fitter, ask him what stack and reach you need underneath you, and report back here what he says?
in the meantime, how did your fitter come about recommending that particular seat angle for you? and how is that seat angle measured?
i’m asking you some hard questions, and i’m going to make you do a bit of homework, but the end result will be a lot more confidence on your part, and a sure knowledge of what bikes work best for you, and why.
the dealer/fitter got back to me. he gave me a stack of 56 and a reach of 39. thanks.
in this case, i don’t see how a p3 in any size would be appropriate. again, go back to our stack and reach tables and you can see for yourself. if your fitter told you a p3 was appropriate, take the stack and reach metrics he gave you, both of you look at the stack and reach tables, and have him explain to you why a p3 makes sense.
i shall await ![]()

Given that stack/reach, I don’t see ANY bike in there that even comes close…
Edited: Blue Triad in MD comes about the closest

stack and reach will faithfully tell you what bike matches the position. but you have to start with the idea of a decent position. stack/reach will faithfully tell you the bike that will work for a BAD position too.
but i wasn’t there, during the fit, so i’m not in a position to criticize what went on. but that stack/reach certainly does NOT match a p3.
With the suggested saddle height and TT length as well as the stack and reach, something seems really out-a-whack.
