Is there a connection with Chromium Picolinate and Diabetes? A friend asked me about taking that supplement to help with diabetes.
Anyone?

No. But there is a concern that Chromium Picolinate is a carcinogen.
Chromium Picolinate is used sometimes to increase insulin sensitivity, although I dont know how strong the evidence is that it actually works - there seem to be conflicting studies.
The NIH has this to say:
“The benefit of added chromium for diabetes has been studied and debated for several years. Several studies report that chromium supplementation may improve diabetes control. Chromium is needed to make glucose tolerance factor, which helps insulin improve its action. Because of insufficient information on the use of chromium to treat diabetes, no recommendations for supplementation yet exist”
Bump
.
I know some body builders who swore by chromium back in the early 90’s as a way to burn off more sugar by raising insulin levels, but they stopped using it because of concerns of cancer especially when combined with HGH.
