Hey Kitty - how're those new pedals working out for ya?

Did you get the shoes as well?

i love the platform! and to my surprise, less float is better. the motion of pedaling is more “buttoned up” and was alot smoother. i didn’t realize how much my foot was wobbling all over the place; it is a marked difference in control (and regardless in my mind or not, feels like more power transfer).

the downside is the entry is not as easy; but i’m hoping that gets better with time (it’s not rocket science, right?). also i’m paranoid about my cleats getting rubbed down because they’re kind of chinsey plastic, but i’ll just keep an eye on them.

overall though, changing the pedals was an excellent move for me and the kind of riding i’m doing right now.

shoes were much tougher to figure out as i tried several things that i wanted to work, but didn’t.
but, i’ve settled on the sidi genuis 6.6! and they are a saucy little number!
they’ll be in next week, and seem to have an innovative heel design, a specially designed carbon sole, etc.
maybe the 6.6 is all hype, maybe not, but i’m willing to try.
besides, these shoes are a celebration reward for achieving 1 year without drinking come August 19th! (hey, i had to do something, right? It’s official that i’m a reformed wine snob!)

in this process we discovered my current shoes are about 2 sizes too big; so no wonder i had all the rubbing and blisters.
they will be reserved for winter riding with bigger socks, so it’s not a total loss.

i was going to send you a special thanks for your strong recos on the pedals, but you kind of beat me to it here! so…i guess i’ll just post it now.

THANKS!
