Still not sold on these new sh designs. So if you try it let me know.
Good grief! Biden would be proud!
I love my UTS, but this thing is nuts.
What I find most interesting is the company that is making this, Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co, is much better known for the following:

Instead of the tacticool-operating-operator type of black plastic:

.
I think I would pass on that. I could see potential feeding problems.
I’m such an old fossil I still have an old stock 870 Express that’s older than Al Gore’s innerwebs. I’m too cheap to own a fancy engraved side by side or an autoloader;)

Right now, you have two shotguns on the market that feed one barrel from two tubes. The UTS can alternate from one tube to the other automatically. Both work without feeding issues. I highly doubt there would be more trouble from a shotgun that loaded shells from two tubes into their own separate barrels.
They need that gun on the walking dead
.
Nah. They just need a UTS 15. Awesome gun and my go-to for the zombie apocalypse. Not sure why we haven’t seen one except for the fact that most people would think it was fake. Of course, we have already seen a 2013 Hyundai when the zombie outbreak started in 2010, so …

There are some youtube videos of those jamming while ejecting spent shells or while feeding the next. Is yours working flawlessly?
What they really need for dealing with zombies is just a bit of know how. Make a compressed air gun that shoots ball bearings and can be charged with a bike pump. Super quiet and you wouldn’t have to get too close. ![]()

I have never had a jam. Not once. When I first got it, a guy at the range said the same thing. I let him fire about 20 shells, trying to get it to jam, and he could not do it.
Can say as I have a reliable pump and semi. But it is my experience that most jamming in modern firearms is user related. Glock for all its reliability created a mentality of under lubrication. I’ve been lecture by so called experts that over lubricating a glock lead to premature wear.
That is horse shit. I’ve seen many fail by under lubing. But never seen one fail from too much lube. If you worry about oil getting everywhere use grease. But guns need oil and I suspect that is the issue with this. I saw several hundred rounds go through one of these at a match. Granted my gun club was the closest to kel tec and it was their reps. But I doubt they created a special gun for show.
But it is my experience that most jamming in modern firearms is user related.
- using underpowered walmart loads in a shotgun
- crappy home reloads in a pistol
- messing around swapping springs when you don’t know what you are doing
- craptastic grip either too loose or grip with thumb riding on slide (this is probably #1)
- not cleaning gas system
- lack of lube, especially 1911
- not cleaning magazines or cheap crappy magazines
.
Inwas generic in my statement of user error. I consider it part of user maintenance. Ammo related isn’t necessary user. The rest is called fucking up your gun and that falls under user error to.
A well maintained gun, no matter the make, will
- Be lubricated regularly and thoroughly.
- Magazines maintained
- Not have excessive wear. If abnormal wear, you probably didn’t follow step one.
FYI, gas tubes do lot need cleaning. I’m assuming you are talking about an ar-15. The pressure running though that is so high and hot that the fouling occurs in the gas key in the bolt carrier group. That is why the gas key and bolt should be cleaned regularly and soaked in solvent if too much time passed between use and cleaning.
With the exception of working on a custom job, build, or antique. All my failures have been ammo related. Usually when I have tried a new load and started light for safety reasons or a bad primer. But even those are so rare they are less than a half a percent.
My shotgun also has a gas system (versa max). I run 3 gun almost every weekend. I think you mentioned you used to do 3 gun. As you know it is hard on your gear and that shit gets dirty as hell when you are climbing around, shooting under cars etc and running 6 or 700 rounds a month through it. I actually , pulled a large dried 3 inch piece of weed out of my gas tube of my ar after a match once. Get shit like that in there and carbon builds up. Those giant pipe cleaners work well though.
Oh your talking about a semi auto shotgun. Yes those can be funny
With ammo. And yes that tube must be cleaned and maintained.
I was told the dram of a cartridge is what is most important for a semi auto. I know I have never had a fail in my mossy 930 spx with Walmart , but I made sure the dram was in spec. Can recall what exact but I think it was 3.
I cleaned my gear as soon as I got home.
My expertise on shotguns is minimal. Only have two and they were both very basic but very functional. I prefer long shots. ![]()
