Hey Jay! (tribodyboarder) - if you're looking for a sick deal on a mtb, this is it. You've got 15min
Damnit! Yes, I got that email this morning too. I need a complete bike. The one they had this morning was a frame. Then I’d have to get all the parts. Too much hassle for me. I’m high maintenance.
Dude, this was a compete Racer-X (with alu swingarm rather than carbon) for ~$1600.
The deal will come back - I’ve seen it before and they always come back until they sell through…
If you don’t want to hassle with parts, just get an MTB “build kit” (i.e., a reasonably well-matched set of parts add to a frame) from Colorado Cyclist or Excel. Not hard at all to build up a frame and that Titus is a GREAT deal. My last three MTBs were frame+build kit and I saved a ton.
Too much hassle for me. I’m high maintenance.
Ah - missed this part. For $6k I’ll buy the bike, build it and ship to to you. For $12k I’ll deliver it in person and set you up myself. For $25k I’ll take you to the wind tunnel to get your position dialed.
Hey Jay I saw that as well, it’s been on a few times the last month or so… great deal on a sweet ride. If you are really interested PM your cell phone number and I would text you if it pops up again, I sit in front of a computer 50 hours a week and alway have chainlove running. Good luck!

That’s A LOT lower than a lot of us here ![]()
Caveat on chainlove.com … I bought that Titus in January, when they had the same deal. It arrived a few days later, everything thrown into a huge box. I was excited. Started my build, only to find the carbon swing arm pivot was cracked clear through. I sent it back to chainlove, they said no prob we will refund (as they didn’t at that time have the size I needed). This was early January. I got my Jan credit card statement. No refund. I didn’t think much of it, figured it didn’t make the billing cycle. Just got my Feb statement, and no refund. So, after calling backcountry.com customer service (chainlove’s parent), they said they would issue a refund ASAP, as they never bothered to when I sent the bike back in Jan. We’ll see. Other than those two teensy SNAFUs on my order, chainlove was great to deal with.
Nothing on the bike was packaged adequately for shipment. Stuff was thrown in the box. The frame/fork was not braced at the stays. I was underwhelmed at the packing job. And the bike would require a complete build … disc brakes, headset, BB, etc. No big deal if you have the tools and know what you are doing. Huge deal if you don’t.
Okay, but instead of the wind tunnel, could you babysit my kids while I go for a ride on the new bike with my wife? Damn…$1600 was a deal. The wife isn’t buying into the whole “I need a new mountain bike” claim, so I’m still working on that one. We have to sell a few more bodyboards here at the office before I can follow through with the purchase I think!
That’s a nice ride. I found a local guy who’s selling a 06 Santa Cruz Heckler frame w/ a fork (I’d resell the fork on eBay) for $500. Taking a look at it Saturday. I might be falling off high things again by mid-April!
You’re up to 3 kids now, right? $30k will get you one day/night. $50k for a weekend, $100k for a full week.
Plus expenses…
30 minutes starting now, claim it while you can!
Two kids, a boy (1) and a daughter (5). You’ve gotta play American Girl dolls with her, and my son really likes to wrestle on the carpet!
Playing is included in those prices. I don’t do a la carte.
