are we going to have the second annual hill climb out your front door again this year? What’s the record now? Has John lowered the time anymore? And while I am at it, how is John’s running going?
Hey Mike, Dan read your post and went out the door to go put his bike together. We are definately going to give you a rematch, but we are getting a little late start on the bike this year. Took a good break after the season. We should be ready in early Feb. I’m sure that you have been hammering since Dan gave you that ass whoopin last year. You see my stragedy here, I’m going to get you both so worked up that you will both be little mushroom clouds up the road, then I’ll just spin my fat ass by the carnage…Living the dream(or in one, not sure) Monty
“Has John lowered the time anymore?”
well, let’s see. last year i rode 1:01:50 and you were 1:03 or so. since then i’ve gone 58:10 and john rode 56-high. but we had a pro cyclocross guy go 53, so that’s what we’re shooting for.
john has gone up north, so he’s out of the picture. my guess, paul thomas will get the record. he comes up here every month or so. i took him a bit anaerobic on a run up at 7000’ a couple of weeks ago, which was my pleasure. new records all the way around on that run.
now we’re just waiting for you…
now the run, that’s another story. I have been running a bit lately, averaging 60 miles a week for the past two months now. Haven’t been riding much overall, but have been going to Palomar every other week and not pushing it, riding 1:15 to 1:20 each time. The next couple of weekends are booked, jogging the Phoenix marathon on Sunday and the San Diego marathon is next week (not running it, but watching). Maybe the first warm (above 50) day during the week we can get it in.
