The air has cleared. The dust has settled. And IMNA came through with a slot last week. Safe to say this chapter can be officially marked as closed.
Congrats dude, stuck to your guns and got what you deserved!
None of us will know the inside story, but I hope they simply recognized the problem and needed time to rectify it through whatever their internal red tape is. They get a lot of grief about a lot of things, but it sounds like they did the right thing.
Congrats.
Congrats, hopefully the experience will be better then the stress you went through
.
Boz
Congratulations, I am glad to hear you received the slot you earned.
Pete
Congrats. Glad to see they came correct.
Good deal Boz. Maybe some of your Slowtwitch comrades bombing IMNA with emails helped…wink, wink.
This is exactly why people need to keep their heads when dealing with a bad situation. You don’t want to have to go around apologizing for “loosing it” later. Get the facts, get others involved (a big help in this case, I’d wager!), and keep your cool. Usually, the people on the “other side” are people, too, and the cooler you can handle the situation, the more likely you won’t look like a knucklehead when the “right thing” gets done. It’s a more healthy way to live, and less cortisol release is better for your training, too!
Glad you got the slot that you obviously earned! Twice! Race hard, Boz!
Nice. Congrats, man - you REALLY earned that slot. Not only through the regular channel of placing well, but also by keeping cool and composed throughout a bad situation.
Best of luck on the big island.
Hey Boz…did they give any specific reason for relinquishing the slot? Just wondering because I cornered Grahams brother at a race about two weeks back and really let him have it when he gave me a rather trite answer. Wondering if that didn’t light a spark under the right person.
You’re right on the money. Even when someone totally screws something up, ripping them is not the most effective way to get it fixed, despite the fact that your instinctive feeling of righteousness may want you to do so. I’ve got the “Don’t blow up” part down, but I’m still working on the “Don’t stew over it for hours or days” part.
Tomorrow’s exercise will be on “Letting go…”
Boz,
That is great news. Congrats, it is well earned. I’ll be pulling for you on October. I know you’ll enjoy the day and in the end it will all be worth it.

Hey thanks everybody for the nice words and support. Kentiger - no specific reason, but I didn’t ask for one either. The important thing is it is now done. Now, I can focus on spending lots of $$ getting my carcass over there with a boatload of family.
