Dear fellow triathletes,
I felt alive doing six triathlons some of them half iron distance and I really enjoyed the experience.
However - I keep tearing hernias first an inguinal then an umbilical and then another mostly from racing.
I have had three surgeries one was laporascopic two were shallow repatching mostly after I raced again.
I was wondering if anyone had any advice or similar experiences love this sport cheers
Sorry to hear you are going thru this. I had inguinal tear fixed in October 2023, had torn it doing leg presses. The surgeon (Mayo Clinic in Phoenix) was very upfront that there might likely be pain from the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (even a simpleton like me can decipher what that means) because the mesh might compress the nerve. He was right, on and off pain there for about eight months depending on what I was doing. Best wishes.
