Hi all, quick question for anyone who has rerouted their front brake hose through the top cap.
Have you had any issues with the brake hose rubbing on the edge of the hole where it passes through? I really like how the mod looks, but I’m a bit concerned that the hose could rub against the metal top cap over time and eventually wear through or develop a leak.
Has anyone experienced this, or is it a non-issue in practice?
I have not had an issue with that. LBS did the work for me so I can’t comment on if they paid any special attention or implemented any defenses to that during cutting holes/install. But I admit I did have a similar thought before I did this as well. Here’s a pic of the routing of mine and the hole. Tough to see details and can’t see the hose going down but I don’t see any rubbing or damage to the hose visually. I had this done last year, ridden approx 2000 miles outdoors since it was done.
