The Cannondale mechanic talked about this at a seminar. Basically a couple years away. Mfg’s need to get together on hydraulic brakes/shifters, wheels and hubs, forks, etc… Need a complete system to make it work well.
I would love a carbon cross bike, but I’m still better off putting money into my road bike, it gets the most use and miles.
