The Learning Channel’s new daytime series, Second Chance, will be filming a Chattanooga resident and reconnecting him with a former long-lost love.
TLC follows one person as they overcome fears while attempting to try to reconnect with an old flame. All their intimate details are exposed as they reveal why they are still in love and willing to take the risk despite what could happen, officials said.
Herbert Krabel, of Litespeed Bicycles, met Debbie Gold in Philadelphia while they were both in a student exchange program. They dated in Philadelphia over 13 years ago, and when the relationship ended, they remained friends but never tried to get back together. Since Herbert’s move to Chattanooga in 1997, he and Debbie have not stayed in touch as frequently as they used to. He has always wondered if the sparks between them were still there, it was stated.
The documentary-style show will first film Herbert in Chattanooga, May 27, to give viewers the background on his life. The second day, May 29, they will film Debbie in Philadelphia and explain her background. The third day, May 30, will be the reunion. They will get to spend the day together reliving memories in Philadelphia. The Episode will air on TLC, Wednesday June 30th at 11:30a.m.
I don’t think I wore a cowboy hat during that shoot, as most of taping was done inside. The show though relates to the triathlon relationship threads on slowtwitch, and has a secondary title. “My other girlfriend has two wheels.”

Herbert strikes me as a nice guy and fine man. I have never had the opportunity to meet him in person but I enjoy chatting with him on the phone and exchanging e-mails. He is fun to work with and I hope to work with him more.
The Learning Channel should come over to my house to film some reality TV. My fiancee just bought a $2300 Litespeed bike while we are trying to save for a downpayment on our first house…now she wants another $400 for pedals and accessories!!!
She’s vey cute! But what’s with the no helmet whil inline skating? C’mon dude! It’s just as necessary for skating as it is for biking. And they showed way too much of that inline instructor and her inane rhymes. Commercial break now…what will she say???
She laughed, she cried, she said “he realizes the bike isn’t going to love him back”, and she said yes. That Herbert is one smooth dude…and I’m not just talking about that shaved head! Way to go Herbert!
Well, I have not seen it yet either.
Obviously I have a rough idea what was filmed, but you never know what stuff looks like after editing.
Debbie is an awesome person and very attractive indeed, and her daughter is unbelieavably cute.
Cheers,
Herbert
