Ok, i’m currently signed up for Mountain lakes next weekend (sprint in Alabama) and I just found out that the cycling omnium in Knoxville the same day includes the 30k state TT course. The state TT has been a larger goal for me this year (A- race?) though the course is different I really want to do better this year and I’ve been concentrating on my cycling. Theoretically I could do both but that’ll mean leaving the house around 3am, three hour drive to the tri, three and a half hours to the TT at 5pm and then 3 hours home. I’m not sure I’ll be up to that. There is no refund on the tri so that money is gone. Which race should I do?
Go ahead and just do both. I was once at 5K/10K race. An individual ran the 5K race first as a practice lap. He then won the 5K and then raced the 10K and came in second.
Do the TT - sprint tris a a dime a dozen and even if the TT doesn’t pan out like you hoped because a) the course isn’t perfect for you and b) you somehow are surprised to find that your “A” race is upon you - you’ll get the experience to nail it in the future.

that’s where i’m leaning. I just reread my post and it wasn’t too clear. the TT is on the state course but the actual state TT isn’t till September. This is likely the only time I’ll get to preride it though.
