I recently bought a new set of ZIPP 404s. They have bladed spokes, and when I tried to true them today, I noticed that tightening / loosening the nipple caused the entire spoke to twist (out of the “aero” orientation). So, what’s the trick for doing this right?
I have some Campy wheels that do the same thing, At some point the nipple will turn and the spoke will hold steady ,make your adjustment, back up to untwist the spoke. Some people clamp wood or plastic on the blade to hold while you set them. If its any worse your nipples are corroded ( steel to aluminum ) or have locking compound ,
