Help with gettting seat even more ahead of the BB!

hi,

Currently I ride a scott plasma pro.
I have already flipped the clamp mechanism of the seat, and pushed the rails as far as they can go forward.
I am currently using a fizik aliante saddle…

Currently, the tip of the saddle is about 3cm ahead of the BB… I need to get it to about 6cm ahead of the BB.

Is there any saddle that can allow me to get even more forward?
Am I a freak? I only feel comfortable when I am that much ahead of the BB!

Thanks for the help!

You might get another cm out of a different saddle, but I don’t think you’ll get anything more. You can’t just swap the seatpost like a round-tubed bike (using something like a Profile Fast Forward), so I think that’s about all you’d be able to do.

You are not crazy, you just picked the wrong bike to ride very far forward. The Plasma is advertised at 76 degrees, so moving that far forward is clearly pretty hard. Cervelos are in the same category with about the same actual tube angle. I’m currently doing an experiment with an older Cervelo and it just was not meant to be ridden that far forward.
I did manage about 3cm in front using a Profile tri strike saddle, which is very long and has very long rails. The head of the post is also flipped forward.
I just concluded one with a '06 model Cervelo and had slipping problems with the current model of seatpost when I push the saddle all the way forward on that bike.
This is not the first time I have tried this and all such experiments led to seat post failure eventually. Pushing the rails that far forward and then riding the nose puts a lot of stress on the clamp.

Some company used to make a seat post shuttle that allowed you to adjust your saddle position on the fly. That might buy you some more forward placement. I ride very steep too, probably at leasat 80 degrees, and I wonder if riding steep isn’t also the source of the muscle cramping or pain I get when racing in the muscles just above the knee, and to the inside. Only happens at race pace for me.
