Okay, I"m so lost in my quest to find aero bars. After using the search method and reading some previous posts, I think I just confused myself more. Basically, I want the bars to meet these criteria: S bends, low pad (seems to more or less be required for s bends), somewhat lightweight. And, not a wallet killer so HEDs are out of the question. Also, I would prefer a non integrated stem so I have some adjustability. I work at a shop but after browsing through QBP it seems my options are rather limited. I was thinking maybe the Bontrager but that seems to not be so cool according to this forum. I was debating between the following options: A) Getting the Oval A700, and buying HED s extensions. However, upon closer inspection it looks like the pad holders are welded, so I couldn’t lower them any - which may pose a problem. B) Getting the Profile Design CBX and putting S bends in. It looks like I could work something out to get the pads lower if needed. Also, I guess the Carbon X is an option (as others here have done it) but I’m not sure I like the integrated stem. Another question regarding how far apart the extensions should be. On the Oval the extensions are pretty close together, but on the Profile CBX they’re a bit farther apart then the extensions flare inwards. If I replace the extensions with straight HED S bends will it screw up handling/comfort? I like the looks of Vision Techs put it looks like the extensions are permanently put in, although I’m only viewing it from one angle so maybe I’m decieved. Any input would be appreciated!
