We all know the elderly are targets of scammers. From home repair to hearing aids people are looking to steal as much as they can from them. If you have elderly parents please be sure to check in on them regularly. My mom saw an ad for hearing aids for $750. She makes an appointment, goes in and an hour later has spent 5K for hearing aids… It took me about 2 months to get the charge off her credit card and that only happened after I spoke to the State about bringing charges. In between I started posting horrible reviews and comments about the company on social media. So take a minute and check on your folks, don’t let them get scammed.
Speaking of elderly, where’s ESM been?

Ouch. I think I remember him saying he was going to Arizona. I don’t know if he’s already been or if he might be there now. Hopefully he didn’t get caught up in the flooding they’re having.
I’m glad you were able to help recover your mom’s money. It is despicable, but not surprising, that people would take advantage of her like that. Hopefully your reviews might help keep others from falling victim.
I’ve been very busy, but just came back to the LR for a bit this afternoon. We took a two-week trip to Canada for the IMMT 70.3 WC, and I’m also getting ready for my retirement. I’m working on a Powerpoint presentation about the whole Canada experience as a kind of going-away present to the office. I’ll drop in here again when I can, but you know how hard it is for us elderly to keep up. ![]()
