Help! P3C tech problem

Hi,
I am having a problem with the ajustingscrew in the horisontal dropouts for ajusting the wheels horisontal position. The right ajustingscrew at the RD side wount catch the threads and just goes right through almost to the bottom. This creates a problem.

The frame is -08 model purchased this January and has not rolled a mile.

Is there an easy way to solve this problem? Rethread? Warrranty?

Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks for your help!

The easy way to solve the problem is to just leave off/out both screws. They are only there for convenience, and you shouldn’t be relying on them to keep your wheel from moving. If you are, then either you need to tighten your skewer more, or get a better one.

Thanks for your reply, Andrew. I see what you mean and that there should not be any forces on a little screw like that.

Horisontall dropouts are new to me since I am taking a step up from short/olympic distance. I´ll just tighten up my skewers a bit.

Thank you!

It seems to me like the threads on the screw is damaged. In this case just get a replacement screw (any standard M3 socket screw will work fine, just make certain it’s long enough). The other possibility is that the thread on the frame is damaged. In this case you should consult a Cervelo dealer about rethreading it.
In any case the screws are just for initial placement not for holding the wheel in place while riding. So I think that as Andrew told you: you can just setup the wheel by hand (without the screw) and tighten the QR.
