Help on Quintana Roo size

I’m looking at the closeouts on the 2006 Seduzas and Calientes and am not sure what size to get. Unfortunately, the few local stores around here have sold out for the year. I’m trying to decide between and M and L. I’m 5’10" and fairly average in all my dimensions. I currently ride a 55 cm Litespeed Saber with a 100 stem and am comfortable on it. It has a 55 top tube which puts it right in the middle of the M and L top tube of the Quintana Roos. Any help would be appreciated.

HG50,

I was professionally fit by a reputable fitter in my area and we crunched my numbers against most of the big name mfgrs. The frame that best fit me was the Seduza/Caliente. We decided a M frame with a 90mm stem is best suited for me. I am 5’ 10 1/2ish", but probably more legs than torso. I trust his opinion and will be pulling the trigger a Seduza/Caliente in the next few weeks. Hope this helped!

If I were you, I’d go with the Medium. As far as tribikes go, they seem to fit “large”. My buddy Barry Dmitruk is the same size as you and the medium fits him like a glove. I’m 3.5" shorter than you guys and the S is perfect for me.

The L has 2mm shorter reach and 13mm more stack than your current frame (see cervelo site or dans articles for explanation of those concepts). What this means is that you can use the same length stem and have fewer spacers (in accordance with the ST rules).

The M has 20mm shorter reach and 26mm lower stack so is not really an option unless your current setup is uncomfortable (and you say you’re not) or you are struggling to get your bars low enough.

The L also has 15mm more front centre so would likely feel a bit better down hills.

Go for the L - there is more to comparisons than just the TT length.

im 5’10 and i ride a Lucero M with a 10cm stem. It fits me like a T.

Medium sounds about right for you. I’m 5’7.5" and ride a Small Lucero. I have very short upper body and long legs. Small fits me perfect!

This chart shows the numbers. You can see that the M would require a 130mm stem to achieve the same overall reach and a big stack of additional spacers.

I am 5’10" and ride a medium. I would ride a 53cm Saber however. I rode a 55cm Tiphoon prior to. Good luck.

As someone else mentioned, tri-bikes seem to fit larger than road bikes.

I’m 5’6". Top tube on my road bike is 53 (Size: Small) and it fits great. On my Lucero it’s 50.5 (Size: Small) and it also fits me great.

As always, try it first if you can.
