I have twin HED 3’s and was running Vittoria Corsa Evo CX tires on them (best tires ever) but after reading HED warning on using those tires with the HED 3 and seeing how easily they mounted on the rim I now need to change to another racing clincher tire.
Any HED 3 users out there that know of a clincher tire as good as the Vittoria that can be pumped up to 130-140 and will not be too loose on a HED 3?
I thought of the Veloflex but they only come in size 20 which would be a bit too narrow for the rear specially in a race like Wildflower. Any other?
Thanks for the replies. The first tire I considered was the Michelin Pro race but 115 psi, what kind of a racing tire is that?
I have used the Conti supersonics and they are great but they don’t last for more than 200 miles so they get expensive really quick. Plus they are very prone to flats.
With the crappy roads in Wildflower why would anybody consider using 20mm tires front and back, I think that would be way too uncomfortable.
Tufo tires, hmmmm? I am trying to figure out what that tubular clincher stuff is. Sergio I am assuming you have used them. What do you think? They have so many models I am trying to sort them out.
I’ve gotten replies both ways about the Tufo tubular clinchers. Mostly, the people who used them liked them. the people who hadn’t used them viewed them as a solution to a problem that didn’t exist. ???
