Since I let my son skip school today, I now have to “craft” a good excuse note. He was helping me photograph Second Amendment products. Any thoughts?
He was protesting against those who wish to restrict teachers rights and limit their pay.
He’s a high school student.
Why does it need to be a good excuse? How about, “My son as not able to attend school today, as he was helping me on a project.” If that’s not good enough, then so what. It’s at least the truth.
Dear Mr. Kotter -
Please excuse Juan for being late. He was kidnapped by the jet set and left tied up on a lawn in Hyannis Port.

“I kept my son home with me today so that he could help me take some pictures. There is no way he could have helped me during the 16 hours per day that he is not in school nor could he have helped me on one of the 185 days per year that no school is scheduled. Please excuse his absence and inform his teachers that they will need to provide him with individual instruction on the material that they covered with the students who were in class today.”
Let’s see the photos.

His dad being a complete moron should be excuse enough.
Why do you need a note? Unless there was an exam or something equally important (in which case he should have been in school) all he missed was a mundane day of hanging out with his friends at the beginning of the school year. I dont know what the 2nd ammendment is but he likely learned more and created better memories hanging out with you for the day…
Tell him to say he was sick, that he’s much better now, and ask for the homework he missed…
Go to this link. Pick your favorite Saint. Then write the note saying that you were celebrating ____ Saints Day as part of your religion. Schools typically don’t argue with that stuff and nothing says awesome like using Christianity as your venue for lying.
I assume it’s your kid, you excused his absence (he wasn’t skipping school). That’s all the note needs to say.
