Help me spend my money (Rapp and Everyone)

lol - correct

I had offers already that were $475 above what it’s at now, so I am hoping the bidding goes up over the last 24 hours as I turned that one down ;-(

Really, if I didn’t want training gear, I would be hard pressed to sell it, as it is 50% of what we paid for it in 2007…but that is a sunk cost at the end of the day.

Thanks for the Post!

see responses below.

Some of my usual “spending other people’s money” suggestions (some of which you and or others have already mentioned) with a few random brainstorming additions:

  1. PT Elite+ (Hub Only - no head unit)
    http://www.wheelbuilder.com/...owertap-package.html
    $955

Yes

A bit of an analysis on 310XT vs 500 vs LYC vs Joule here:
http://sites.google.com/site/garminpower

Short summary? 310XT alone is fine. 500 is a bit better than the 310XT if you don’t mind multiple devices. LYC is good if you want to be able to do static calibration of your PT. Joule is nice if you want some additional onboard metrics, but you don’t “need” them.

Already have the 310xt so, given no compelling reasons so far not to, will stick with it.

  1. Wheelcover:
    http://www.wheelbuilder.com/store/disc-covers/
    $90

Yes

Let me know how the shipping/duty to Canada from Wheelbuilder works out - it’s on my todo list.

Will do.

Hated it - replaced with Polar product

I think that’s the old version - there’s an updated version available per this thread if you look around:

    http://andyfroncioni.com/...n-windows-right-now/
    $0

I had originally, but last year had a bit of an issue.

Went in 1-2 weeks before a race, purchased some clip-on aerobars and scheduled a fitting session for the following week.

In between the weekend and the date of the fitting session we left my bike there for a maintenance / overhaul (cables, brakes, etc.)

Come back the following week and nothing had been done on the bike re: maintenance…

We put the aerobars on and the fit session was really nothing my brother, who has never cycled, couldn’t have done - i.e. they were obviously busy and had no time to actually assess my position, power, fit, etc. which was very obvious to me…

Strange part, had already purchased from them a wetsuit, speed suit, and the aero bars and was paying for the fit but after that debacle, I won’t go back (doesn’t help that I am in Coquitlam and they’re in Kits and I drove all that way for nothing, left my bike there for a week without training for nothing)…

Wheelbuilder worked out GREAT!

There technician on the phone was amazingly helpful in asking me questions regarding what I needed it for, what the conditions where I live were, etc., etc.

The prices that they gave me appeared to be lower than I expected by just adding up each individual item on the website (bulk purchase?)…

The shipping / duty was pretty much exactly what they said - i.e. I didn’t have to pay extra brokerage duty but only the shipping per their site.

End result -great rear training wheel with a power meter / disc cover, front Flashpoint 80.

Looking forward to the first race this weekend!
