Help me rank these wheels

Assuming a 22mm Conti Attack (22mm Schwalbe Ironman for the tubular) at let’s call it 22-24mph in most triathlon conditions:
Flo 30Enve 45 (45mm V-shaped rim)Zipp 303 FirecrestZipp 404 Pre-Firecrest tubularFlo 90
My assumption is that the Flo 90 (or zipp 808/Aeolus 9/Enve 8.9) would be measurably faster and the rest would all be in the same ballpark.

Thank you!
.

Flo 90 > Zipp 303FC == Zipp 404 tubies > Flo 30 > Enve 45

just guessing though

in low wind maybe the zipp404 wins!

Those v-shaped wheels are no bueno, huh? They are definitely the sketchiest in crosswinds. Which is surprising considering how shallow they are.

I’ll echo Jack’s guess. Haven’t ridden the 90 but have ridden the rest. The 30s are faster than they should be…

Flo 90 > Zipp 303FC == Zipp 404 tubies > Flo 30 > Enve 45

just guessing though

in low wind maybe the zipp404 wins!

Flo 90 > Zipp 303FC == Zipp 404 tubies > Flo 30 > Enve 45

just guessing though

in low wind maybe the zipp404 wins!

That would about be my ranking. The rolling resistance difference between the 404s and the rest could come into play on low wind days. I seem to remember about a 3 watt difference between the Attacks and that tubular. This does also assume a good glue job on the tubular.

Flo 90 > Zipp 303FC == Zipp 404 tubies > Flo 30 > Enve 45

just guessing though

in low wind maybe the zipp404 wins!

+1

DUDE! You just got a 303FC! Ride that thing! Seriously, it’s a great wheel… I just got tired of swapping break pads :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, keep in mind that the Schwalbe Ironman Tubular is probably just a bit faster than the Attack. Just remembered I have to call the shop and ask what type of glue they used.

Aggghhhh. Forgot about CRR.

Ok so the 303 FC is a tub and has a Schwalbe Ironman glued to it.

That change anything? These new fast tubulars (zipp) have me wanting to switch back from clinchers. Used tubular wheels are practically free right now!

I’ve tested several Attacks that were great for Crr. Only one was bad (ie worse than a GP4000).

Don’t put too much faith in a single test.
