Hey, to save costs our class is going without a DJ. I was put in charge of the sound because, well, I have a 5000 watt PA system. Anyway, I’m putting together the playlist for the night. I just got a list of songs from the #1 hits while we were in HS. I’ve also started adding some of my own, and quite frankly, its not that important if we go a little before or a little after high school. Actually, some early 80s stuff would be nice.
The difficlut part is finding songs that people will still enjoy hearing. A lot of songs from back then don’t get play anymore for a reason. Some songs aren’t that good, but have a great nostalgia factor (like Ice Ice Baby), while others have stood the test of time (Still Haven’t Found what I’m Looking For).
Also keep in mind including all demographics, but still generally recognizable and acceptable songs. I’m very light on the heavy stuff, rap, R&B, and don’t have a single country song in the mix yet.
Have a look at the list so far and please throw me some suggestions.
