Help me buy some Road Racing DVD's

I own:
8 spinnerval’s
The Hard Road- liked
Pro- liked
1999-2002 TDF
some older TDF
and some othe misc Tri dvd’s

I want to buy two more road racing dvd’s. I’d like to buy one of the classics like Paris-Roubaix, or Liege Bast. Liege. I thought the 2006 Paris/Roub was interesting. How about the pure sweet hell cyclocross film?

Who has some ideas?

There was a paris roubaix that was super muddy and george got second or so. methinks it was '01

2003 TDF was pretty damn exciting.

If you liked the documentaries you should check out:

The Road to Paris (armstrong in 2001/2 (?))
Overcoming (CSC 2004)
Hell on Wheels (Erik Zable/Rolf Aldag/Telekom 2003)

They’re all euro documentaries, MUCH better than Pro and Hard Road. It’s pretty interesting to watch the CSC documentary given the doping allegations. As far as race dvds go, you can’t go wrong with 2006 L-B-L, Amstel Gold, or Tour of Flanders. All really good races. Lombardy is also always really good, but idk if that’s out yet - 2005 was good. Roubaix this year was impressive but not that fun to watch since it wasn’t muddy.

I have 100+ races on DVD, and the one race that gets consistant viewing is the 2002 Cyclocross Worlds, from Zolder, Belgium.

This is the archetypal “Modern Cross” race; super fast yet technical course, intense head-to-head action throughout, and a nail-biting finish that comes down to a 3-up sprint on the final pavement section. As a really positive little extra feature, this race was unusually well filmed, with few of the blind-spots typical of cross coverage, and higher-than usual production values - probably due to it being in Belgium, and at a motor sports venue. They thought about how this race would look on TV, and it shows.

Highly recommended, and perhaps the single best cycling race available in English language format, IMHOP.

.

I just bought my Dad the 1986 TDF and “A Sunday in Hell”.

1986 was the first year we started riding and following the Tour.

Hell on Wheels
.

Sunday in Hell is the best cycling video ever.

I also like the 2003 Giro. Good race and exciting to the end, although the late battle was for second, not first. I’m also partial to the 96 Giro because I was there. Another race with change of lead on the second last day. Giro tends to be more interesting than Tour because of more lead changes among contenders, whereas the Tour trades lead among sprinters and no-hopers for the first week.

Fredly,

Where are you getting your cross DVD’s from? I found a source in www.procyclocross.com but its a pretty basic website and you’re paying through paypal which I’m not too thrilled about.

Thanks.

Despite the appearance, the Procyclocross site is legit; I have known the guy who runs it for many years, and he’s trustworthy. Great source for videos.

If you are interested in road videos as well, he has a much better deal available, but it involves a membership fee up front. I can get you details and contact info, just PM me.

I’ve got **tons ** of great selections, including many classics. Photos of some of the titles can be found on the Google Docs page at the links below (I can email better ones to you if you’re really interested). I’m thinking I’d like $10/ea. for most titles and $5/ea. for the few that didn’t come with commercial cases (i.e. they are just labeled on the disc themselves). I would also consider trading even (split postage?) if I’m interested in what you’ve got. I’d also consider negotiating and or a “bulk reduction”

For example, I have numerous years of the following races: Paris-Roubaix, Milan-San Remo, Ghent-Wevelgem, Het Volk, Tour of Flanders, Amstel Gold, San Sebastian, World Championships, Fleche Wallonne, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, TDF, Vuelta, Giro, LeMond compilations, Ironmans, etc. Most are races from the early-mid 90’s or early-mid 2000’s. All have been viewed only once and are in perfect condition, with cases , and I’m probably willing to trade disc for disc - I just don’t enjoy watching races more than once and am just looking for some stuff I haven’t seen.

2010 Tour of Flanders… Cancellara at his best!

If you like vintage A sunday in hell, The impossible hour, and Stars and Watercarriers. Their is a good doc on Sean Kelly also. If you want movies an under the radar one is the Triplets of Belleville (cartoon)

Those all sound interesting/great (I’ve seen/got Sunday in Hell) but that doesn’t help me **OBTAIN **them (by trade). Can you help with that??

Ah I misunderstood. Give me a couple of days I have someon dbd and some on VHS.
