I’m sure this has been solved long ago, but I just purchased a front Hed trispoke and am curious as to the best way to attach a magnet for my computer. Are there any specific magnets that will mount best? Thanks for the help.
Make sure the magnet can use zip ties. That worked for mine.
There is a small magnet with a sticky back and a zip tie that you can buy that I used on my trispoke. If you do a search at some of the larger online bike retailers, you should be able to find it.

Just use black electrical tape and you won’t even know it is there. Much nicer than any form of tie.
I have a magnet that is made to stick on with double sided tape. I’m having a hell of a time remembering who made it and I can’t find it online, perhaps no longer made. I half think it was from Zipp. I have 3 or 4 of them laying around.
Or you can go the cheap route and just stick a magnet on with real good double sided tape.
Here is one you can mount with a zip http://www.tri-zone.com/Catalog/BikeComputers.html
Old Slowman article where he says he just went to home depot to get a magnet and super glued it http://www.slowtwitch.com/mainheadings/techctr/therig.html
.
Radio shack ‘rare earth magnet’ apply with glue and cover with back tape.
YMMV but this has worked for me for several seasons. Get a bite-sized piece of powerbar, and stick it to the wheel. Smoosh the magnet into it. Cover with electrical tape.
The powerbar molds to the magnet to give it a stable place to sit, and you can “fair” the whole thing with electrical tape.
Bonus, if you get really hungry, you can always stop, take off the magnet, and eat the little scrap of powerbar.
Those things are sticky and stay sticky. Never thought about using them for my magnet.
I repeat myself but I used a bit of silicone glue and glued a rare earth magnet to the inside of the tire inflation stem well. Then I taped it over, then put the usual tape over the stem well. That way the aerodynamics is only affected by the magnet pickup for the computer and not by the magnet.
I use CatEye Composite Wheel Magnet with my HED 3, never had a problem for the past 3 years. The zip tie work fine. See 5280 post message for a picture of the magnet.
The local hardware store will have flat 1/2" diameter magnets. Use double sided tape to mount it. It works perfect and can easily be removed if need be!

OMG, that is SO discusting! How can you even suggest to use food??? Can you imagine the amount of bacteria that forms under the tape? DISCUSTING!
