**The Longest Race: Inside the Secret World of Abuse, Doping, and Deception on Nike’s Elite Running Team **by Kara Goucher…really fascinating look at her experience within the Alberto Salazar system
On a lighter note, Running the Dream by Matt Fitzgerald is a good read. He details his living and training with a group of elite runners, in Flagstaff, AZ, as he prepares for the Chicago Marathon
As others have said, **Unbroken **has to be one of the best books I have ever read. The story of Ernest Shackleton is very interesting as well. Both are incredibly inspiring from the standpoint of human endurance and how much a person can tolerate.
