I haven’t had a speed readout on my SRM all season. I figure I am already going as fast as I can, why does it help to know what that speed is?
I guess for the power file afterward?
I really don’t race by speed at all- just cool to see fastest downhill, etc.
The power file still reads out just fine. It is nice to know speed but I have never felt like I needed it during a race. I think you will be fine without it if it turns out to be too big a pain to get the magnet attached.
rare earth metal magnets. that is what i used with my ergomo. they are really tiny, and can be glued right onto the other magnet. i found the ergomo speed sensor to be quite sensitive.
also, muffin top makes a pretty good point that speed is somewhat pointless…i have plenty of power files from my ergomo (pre-rare earth metal magnet) with not speed.
