Summer is arriving and I NEED your help!
I am looking to get a cruising around town bike for the summer. Single speed with a flip flop for fixie.
The choices
Cannondale Capo Has brakes already I like both the Crome and the Black.
Specialized Langster Chicago. TT type Base bar with brakes, I have to wait until July to get it.
Bianchi Piste. No Brakes, Did I mention no brakes. I know where I can get a 61 in Green (yuck) now, but I like the Chrome.
In addition what kind of pedal and shoe combo is best? Road shoes and Looks or SPDs and soft mtb shoes. Cages and regular pedals.
I live in the beach cities in Los Angeles so that is where I will ride. Although a trip up Latigo might be a sufferfest worth doing. Once!
The last I am 6’4 so I ride a 180 crank on my road and tri bikes. Should I be worried about the short crank on these bikes 165 I believe, due to the fixie aspect of digging a pedal. I will mostly ride single speed.
