I know we have heard it all before, but it’s true! I crashed on a training ride last week and my helmet saved me. It broke clean through in 5 places as my head and face and ribs absorbed the impact. Aside from some broken ribs and various other internal injuries, the helmet worked and I am still kickin! Just thought I would share that with ya’ll

Yep, I broke mine on the front of a car when I was hit a few years ago. Did a front flip off my forehead about 15 feet and landed flat on my back on the other side of the car. Walked away (carried my bike). I’m pretty sure the outcome would have been different if I didn’t have the helmet…
It is amazing the good a helmet can do. I too broke a helmet in two in a fall and broke 6 ribs but my head did not feel a thing. As an aside never ride with someone who does not wear a helmet. If they crash… their concussion slows down the rest of your ride!
I wish I could say my head was ok, but that would be a lie. I suffered a major concussion, as well as a bruised liver and some broken ribs. Having the concussion in spite of the helmet makes that $160, the best money I have ever spent.
When the last thing I remember was hitting a bump in the road, looks like it was my head hitting the ground. After a concussion, broke collar bone, rib, and some big time road rash, the helmet saved my life!!
