I need to buy a new road helmet. I like the look/fit of some of the MTB helmets. What’s the main difference between a road vs. a MTB helmet? Any problem using a MTB helmet on the road (weight/cooling/etc.).
I find my road helmet is lighter, cooler and more aero than my mtn bike helmet.
I don’t know which is better, but I can speak from personal experience that the most comfortable helmet I’ve ever worn (my current helmet) is a Rudy Project Kontact.
Road helmets tend not to have a visor, but do have more vents. Nothing wrong with wearing a MTB helemt on the road, beyond the snickering you might get…I’m kidding, it’s a personal choice.
